Ghimire Consulting Voters to Prepare Commitment Letter

Biratnagar – Jeevan Ghimire, Central Committee Member of CPN-UML and candidate for the House of Representatives from Morang Constituency No. 4, has stated that he will publish a commitment manifesto focused on overall development by incorporating suggestions from voters.

Ghimire, who is contesting in the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21, has been interacting with voters to better understand the development needs of the constituency.

He informed that suggestions have been collected from voters and that the commitment manifesto will be made public within the deadline set by the Election Commission. Speaking at an interaction program with candidates organized by Press Chautari Morang in Biratnagar, Ghimire said that the preparation of the manifesto involved direct discussions with the public, collection of suggestions, and analysis of sectoral needs.

Clarifying that his election campaign would be result-oriented, he stated that he would move forward with long-term plans to make Morang–4 prosperous and well-managed. Ghimire, who built an image as a working minister during his tenure in the Koshi Provincial Government, is known as a result-oriented leader. He said that suggestions were collected from the constituency with a goal of moving ahead based on a clear outline of achievable tasks.

According to Ghimire, voters have prioritized road upgrades, resolution of flooding problems, expansion of access to quality healthcare, and modernization of agriculture. “Through party members, door-to-door campaigns and meetings have been intensified,” he said. “From Falgun 4, tole gatherings, corner meetings, and election assemblies will be conducted.”

Mentioning the unprecedented participation in post-nomination meetings, he claimed that public support would become even stronger once the official campaign period begins as per the Election Commission’s schedule. “After Falgun 4, the support for UML in Morang–4 will be seen even more strongly,” he said. Ghimire is also the founding Minister for Social Development of the Koshi Provincial Government.

Under his leadership, the process of establishing Nepal’s first technical university, Manmohan Technical University, was initiated. During his tenure at the Ministry of Social Development, he introduced the concept of the “One School–One Nurse” program in government schools. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, initiatives undertaken during his tenure included the construction of a modern coronavirus hospital within 15 days, establishment of a Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Biratnagar, operation of long-term rehabilitation homes for women and children, formulation of the Domestic Violence Control Act, creation of a Gender Violence Prevention Fund, the “Self-Reliant Daughter” program, disability prevention and rehabilitation programs, and the construction of Senior Citizen Support Centers.

He reiterated that the upcoming election is an opportunity to secure a mandate for development, good governance, and stability, and emphasized that he would publish his action plan by placing voters’ suggestions at the center.
