Kathmandu, Sept 20. The International Panchang Determination Committee has announced the auspicious time (sait) for Dashain Tika in various countries this year.
According to Committee Member-Secretary Acharya Laxman Panthi, the timings were fixed based on local time and calendar calculations as many Hindu devotees living abroad had inquired about the suitable time for Tika.
For Nepal, the auspicious time has been set at 11:53 AM on October 2 (Ashoj 16). In Delhi, India, the time is 11:49 AM on the same day. In the United States, the timings vary by state: New York at 11:25 AM on October 1, Frankfort (Kentucky) at 11:57 AM, Owensboro (Kentucky) at 11:05 AM, Texas at 11:33 AM, Washington DC at 11:35 AM, California at 11:11 AM, and Colorado at 11:29 AM.
In Canada, the auspicious hour is 11:55 AM on October 1 in Toronto and 11:33 AM in Vancouver. In Japan, Tokyo’s time is 11:31 AM on October 2. For Australia, the timings are: Sydney at 11:43 AM, Melbourne at 11:19 AM, Brisbane at 11:53 AM, Adelaide at 11:35 AM, Canberra at 11:51 AM, Tasmania at 11:45 AM, Perth at 11:25 AM, and Darwin at 11:47 AM.
In New Zealand, Wellington’s time is 11:23 AM on October 2. In Europe, the auspicious times are: Lisbon (Portugal) at 09:23 AM, London (UK) at 09:17 AM, Paris (France) at 09:57 AM, Oslo (Norway) at 10:03 AM, and Geneva (Switzerland) at 10:25 AM.
In Asian countries, the timings are: Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) at 11:11 AM, Singapore at 11:09 AM, Hong Kong at 11:45 AM, Bangkok (Thailand) at 10:45 AM, Seoul (South Korea) at 10:57 AM, Yangon (Myanmar) at 10:27 AM, Tel Aviv (Israel) at 11:35 AM, Doha (Qatar) at 10:13 AM, Abu Dhabi (UAE) at 10:55 AM, and Saudi Arabia also at 10:55 AM.
Committee Chair Prof. Dr. Madhav Bhattarai and Vice-Chair Prof. Dr. Devmani Bhattarai clarified that all the times are according to the respective country’s local time.
