Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office Collection: From ₹2.29 Crore to ₹150+ Crore in 17 Days – A Historic Milestone for Indian Animation

When Mahavatar Narsimha hit theatres, few expected an animated mythological film to set the Indian box office on fire. Opening at ₹2.29 crore net across all languages (₹1.51 crore in Hindi) on Day 1, the film quickly turned into a blockbuster thanks to strong word-of-mouth and wide appeal.

By the end of its first week, it had earned ₹44.75 crore net, and the second weekend saw a jaw-dropping 1,007% growth in Hindi collections, reaching ₹34.80 crore net and pushing its domestic total to ₹91.25 crore.

Crossing ₹100 Crore – and Beyond

On its second Tuesday, Mahavatar Narsimha officially entered the ₹100 crore club, outperforming other big releases like SaiyaaraSon of Sardaar 2, and Dhadak 2. Just days later, its total climbed to ₹126.25 crore, with ₹8 crore collected on Day 15 alone.

Historic ₹150 Crore Milestone

By Day 17, the film achieved a historic feat — crossing ₹150 crore net in India, becoming the first Hindi animated movie ever to do so. It now ranks among the top 10 highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2025, holding the 6th position with ₹141.59 crore in Hindi collections alone.

Why This Matters

Mahavatar Narsimha proves that animated films — especially those rooted in Indian mythology — can deliver massive box office results if backed by quality storytelling, strong visuals, and effective marketing. The movie’s success could open doors for more big-budget animated projects in Bollywood.
