Liberating orders to bureaucrats on her first day of taking office at Singha Durbar, PM Karki directed the most senior officials that she did not come to this office to enjoy it but to work as per dreams of the youth, signifying that she is aiming to pass the buck to a fresh parliament in six months.

"You are also familiar with the situations in which caretaker government was established. There has been vast destruction of life and property. We have come to a vacuum as evidence and records of the main bodies have been destroyed. Donated vehicles to the security organs have been torched. Murder and brutality have occurred. Main bodies have been targeted selectively. Its investigation is pending," PM Karki added further.

She further added, "If this assignment has been done as a Nepali, then it would have been shameful. This kind of incident has been conducted for the first time in Nepal. Our prominent buildings have been destroyed. It seems that this conspiracy has been formulated. The perpetrators should be punished through inquiry."

Prime Minister Karki clarified that the process of compensation and reconstruction must be conducted with the national funds of the country, adding that it should be done facing this act of atrocity done against the nation together, as a response to the people's call.

"Yesterday, when I visited Maharajganj, the local businessmen informed me that they will build a charred police outpost personally there; I thanked them. We all unite in such a way. Don't criticize one another. Please help me," said the PM.

Chief Secretary Eaknarayan Aryal reported that reconstruction of the gutted government buildings is becoming a challenge and continuity of service is also at stake.

Claiming that there has been destruction of government buildings and security agency premises in all the districts, he stated a budget had to be set aside for reconstruction on priorities.

Karki, who took oath as the caretaker government Prime Minister on September 12 after the September 8 and 9 Gen Z protest, took oath of office today within the complex built for the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singha Durbar.
